Chronicle Books' Civil War in Depth was the first book to present stereoscope photographs of the Civil War in the 3-D format that they were meant to be seen in — a 3-D viewer was included in the back of each book. The design objective was to present these powerful images in an historically respectful environment while taking advantage of modern cataloging and book structuring.

In addition to the design we brought to the project, our process involved tracking and handling of hundreds of pieces of rare original art and photographs. The volume is now in its third reprint with a sequel volume in production.
