After 20 years of groundbreaking work—with extensive credits in theater, ballet, modern dance, and dance education—Peter Pucci is one of the most sought after choreographers. His work has been commissioned and traveled by dance companies around the world, including the Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, Alberta Ballet and The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

As director of Peter Pucci Plus, his dance and movement company performs annually in New York, counting among its many performances six appearances at the Joyce Theater, combined with extensive touring.

Peter approached Charette Creative Director Pete Friedrich to create a sweeping new design of his dance and movement website. We wanted to capture his energetic movement and finely articulated body language into the design. We let Pucci's dynamic movements take center stage on each page.

The fluidity of the bodies in action are counterpointed by the elegant, urban revival font Gotham and a bright and sometimes electric color palette. A wall of dancers frozen in time are placed against a white backdrop, effectively creating a stage for the elements to move around, on and within.

Video Choreography

An important element in promoting choreography is the ability for the audience to quickly and easily see Pucci's diverse range of movement styles and energy. Charette satisfied this need by designing a rich video-driven library section on the site. We worked with Flash wizard Martha Breen to build an intuitive and clear interface making it easy to review years of Pucci's work on any web browser.
